Boogie Of The Apes NYC

We're taking the show on the road! Boogie of the Apes is the second in a series of hilarious productions lip-synced to vintage children’s records of famous comic book, TV, and movie franchises. This raucous send-up of the 1970s Planet of the Apes franchise lampoons, critiques, and ever-so-gently mocks the first four movies in less than an hour. Come see Taylor, Dr. Zira, Cornelius, Nova and many more apes, humans and mutants come full circle in their journey through time and space and, of course, boogie down a bit too. (Please note: no gorillas, orangutans or chimpanzees are harmed in this production.)

And now we're taking it to New York!

Writer and director Rob Matsushita has made a name for himself as a playwright, director and filmmaker. He's had plays performed by companies in Madison, Chicago and New York City. Matsushita has also lent his writing and acting talents to the "Chad Vader" web series with Blame Society Productions.

The cast includes the talents of Jessica Jane Witham, Dan Myers, Alan J. Hart, Grace Grindrod-Feeny, Benjamin Otto, Anthony Cary, Kathy Lynn Sliter, and Luke Kokinos. Technical direction is provided by Taylor Kokinos and choreography is from Katie Ramos.

Heroes Must Die

http://www.hmd-game.com

Heroes must die. That’s a fact. It’s just part of the journey. They also must kill, and get other people killed. In fact, they are pretty much the epicenter of a screaming whirlwind of blood and destruction. Heroes Must Die owns that fact, and then cranks it up to eleven. It’s a raging firestorm of action and an inappropriately hilarious tsunami of comedy. At the center of all of this mayhem is you. Heroes Must Die tells your story, forces you to make the tough decisions, and creates a unique story across media based on choices made by you, the audience, and the world.

So what is Heroes Must Die? Only the world’s first combination video game and live theatrical production! Rock through an insanely deep, branching story in a comedic action RPG, where you’ll be comparing stories with your friends for weeks. Then join a roaring crowd in a theater to see a live performance that changes every night based both on the audience decisions in that show and the decisions made by players in the game previously. Unlock secrets in the game that can only be accessed by attending the show. Damn straight, we ain’t kidding.

Are video games art? Is gaming culture dominated by griefers, trolls, and jerkoffs, or is it the ultimate social bonding experience? How have modern games changed the nature of heroes since classic mythology? How high does blood spurt after completing a 20-chain combo against an army of masked assassins? These are the questions Heroes Must Die tackles, hog-ties, and parades through town.

Read the blog to follow our production from start to finish, request a press packet for more information, or email us about anything you can think of at info@hmd-game.com.

Just remember: In 2014, heroes will die.

Requiem for a Dungeon Master

Written by: Scott Feiner & Directed by: Scott Feiner

Playing: January 10, 2014 - February 1, 2014

Not so long ago and close to home, monsters, wizards, dreams and dragons were packaged into a thousand cardboard boxes.  A small group of friends in Lake Geneva dared to loose upon the world the “most dangerous” game 1974 had to offer.   Role playing games channeled the creative energy of millions, even if they’re afraid to admit it.

Requiem  introduces Winslow Phelps to our stage and welcomes back Geremy Webne-Behrman, Dunes and Clarice Lafayette.

Requiem for a Dungeon Master will run at Broom Street Theater at 8pm January 10th until February 1st. Tickets are $11.00.  For more information or to make reservations contact Broom Street Theater at

(608) 244-8338.

Hostage Song

By Kyle Jarrow, Clay McLeod Chapman

Directed by Catie O'Donnell

In an unspecified time and place, Jim and Jennifer are hostages, blindfolded and awaiting their fate. In an effort to distract themselves from their inevitable doom, they invent a life together beyond prison walls. As the reality of their demise becomes clearer, the fantasy becomes more vivid. Stunning rock music leads the story forward as the two grapple in the dark for the last bit of love they will ever know.

MTM's production will be only the fourth staging of this musical, which, in New York and Chicago, has been deemed "breathtaking", "haunting" and "devastatingly poignant." HOSTAGE SONG is not to be missed, for it takes the unconventional musical, and MTM, to a whole new level.

Tickets available starting January 1 at www.mtmadison.com or 1-800-838-3006.

Produced by Music Theatre of Madison at Frequency, 121 West Main Street, Madison

Performances: January 29 - February 1, 2014

Performance Times: Wednesday-Saturday at 7:30pm each night

Ticket Prices: $15-$20.
